Yeah, the first one sucked. And I do realize now that there are actually members who don't know me. *shot*

Anyways, like I said before, I'm Thalia. Been editing for exactly one year come July! I don't really know what my style is, either, but... it's like... I really like to hit beats, but also sometimes I like to just go with the flow and forget beats exist, hahah. Either way, I like to edit whatever I feel like I can handle, which mostly consists on rock music (if you give me a pop song, chances are I will blow, hahah).

I'm a member of a lot of studios, besides this one. Too many. x_x My parents are actually having me quit a lot of them that don't really do much. I've decided that I'm only going to try out/be a member of studios that are unique - not the types of studios that are pretty much the same ole' "we-try-to-be-really-epic-so-we-gave-ourselves-a-name-involving-darkness-and-or-sin-and-or-my-life-sucks-sort-of-vibe". You know how studios are sometimes (though I do that too... hahah, Coded Deceptions).

Basically, the studios that I'm a member of (that I won't be quiting, hahah) are:
AMV Maker Army (obviously XD); Ashe
Coded Deceptions (co-leader); Yuna
False Memories (member); Yuna
Never Forgetting Memories (member); Ashe
The Resistance (member); Yuuki
Risen for Dawn (leader); Yuna
Tears of Hate (leader); Christine
Studio 5 Star (member); Yuna/Capricorn

...Yuna's my favorite character. I guess that should be obvious, hahah. But Ashe is my second favorite, so when Yuna is unavaliable (like she generally is), I pick Ashe.
And then when Ashe isn't avaliable, I sit down in a corner and silently implode. =]

Besides editing, mostly I write... a lot. I do have a fanfiction.net account, but I don't upload much, because I generally only write fanfiction because 1) I'm practicing for my own novels or 2) the fandom really made me feel something, and there's something that I wanted to expand on.
http://www.fanfiction.net/u/2203540/
Mostly, I'm only writing things for the Mortal Instruments book series, and I find that I'm best at writing that anyways (there's so much to expand on there, hahah), so if you have an ff.net account, don't start following me or anything thinking I'll be uploading much game stuff, hahah.

Besides writing, I sing. ...Also a lot. My school's choir is one of the best in the USA, and my brothers were both in both the top choirs (Concert Choir and Framework), so I have something to really live up to. We're going to Disneyland on competition/tour with Eric Whitacre next year, so I'm really excited for that. =] Oh, and when I'm gone for that, Sam's in charge. XD I know, a lot of people say they really love singing, but it's... more than that, I guess. It's like breathing for me. Not saying I'm great or anything, but it's something that I truly love. =]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMbKYykmeZw That's me. Not my best run through, but you know. XD

...I'm talking a LOT. Daaaaang.
Well, if you have any other questions, ask me. =D I'm your friendly-neighborhood admin, hahah. *stole Sam's line*

Hello! I have aleady seen the vid where you sing and it's really good! Don't worry. I already knew who you were. Not becasue I'm a stalker... but because you were actually the one who got me started on AMV making! I had never even heard of AMVs untill I saw your break through the surface video. You are awsome, and don't forget it! You're practicing to be a writer? That's awsome! I'm not going to ask what your book's about, becasue I'm a bit paranoid with that stuff myself. People stealing my ideas, and stuff like that. I already have a book finished! (*celebration clap for self) I worked on it for TWO years, so yeah, it's pretty long. But now I'm working on the sequel and I'm REALLY slacking off! I need to get off the computer and start working! Wink lol. But, I will ask what kind of story it is. Mine's a fantasy. Is your's a fantasy too? A fiction based on real life? I always like to meet fellow writers! (Hey, I've been rambling for a while too now! lol) But I don't ever put fanfiction up on the internet for one reason. I'm too lazy to type it up! Haha.

Post by ThaliaAnderson Sat Jul 03, 2010 3:54 pm

Hiii! Oh myyy, I got you started?! Hahaha, thank you! I will try not to let you down. =]
Ahh, I don't mind talking about my stories. I just don't post actual chapters and stuff anywhere online [I only send chapters to my dear ole editors via email and stuff]. But right now I have seven original stories, and a series of about five one-shots that will be the basis for a video series. I'm like, nowhere NEAR down with any of them, and the one that I've been working on for like, two and a half years now isn't anywhere near finished. If I ever get a few chapters in and really get going, I'll go back and look at it, and realize that I hate the way that I wrote it and start all over. XD Like with singing and editing, I'm really bad at accepting that I'm any good at all, and so I always throw something out to start over. But I adore my characters, so I keep trekking on, even if it's killing me, hahah.

Uhm, genres? Let's see... Three of them are fantasy, two are more realistic, but have a fantasy-like twist, and the three are realistic-fiction. I don't think there will be any sequels to mine, hahah. I like to wrap things up in a single book. XD

A Real Intro Empty Re: A Real Intro

Post by BlackLolitarose Sun Jul 04, 2010 12:57 am

So unlike me! For some reason, with my books I have to drag on and on.... I'm currently working on a trilogy! And honestly, I could have five books started too! But I only want to concentrate on one at a time. Why? Well, I always wanted to be a writer but gave it up around fourth grade and didn't do anything with it after that. Then, in the summer before my 7th grade year, I had an idea! The greatest idea I've ever had for a book! And it just went from there... As I wrote my first, I kept getting more ideas for other stories! But I stuck to the one I was on because I had the story figured out more. Lol. But don't give up on your book! I know it can be a pain at times, but if you keep working at it, you can totally finish! I know I did! And yeah, I totally love my characters too! X3 I already know what I'm gonna start next after I finish my trilogy. AND, I know what I'm gonna do after that one. And then I'm gonna do one after that, and then one after that! So in other words, I have the next five years of my life planned out. (okay. not REALLY. ) But I will tell you the name of my book! It's called Estivale! It's okay if you can't pronounce that... And next I'm doing a series called The Gaurdians! I really can't wait to start that one!
(rambling, rambling...)
Well, since I am finished with my first book (hee hee) and it sounds like your not almost finished, here's just a little tip I learned. If you plan out your next chapter and write down a short list of what happens in it, it'll be much easier to write. For me, before doing that, I wasn't sure what was gonna happen! But then I made a quick, five-minute plan, and I felt much less reluctant to write! Also, sometimes if your bored, but you think "I don't feel like writing... ugh..." but you have nothing else to do... try to start writing a little. Even if you don't want to. That happened to me one time. Bored. Sitting on the couch. And I really didin't want to write, but I figured I might as well give it a shot.. Ya know what happened? I WROTE. And I didn't stop. I wrote more than I ever thought I could that weekend. I know I got two chapters done, I might have gotten three done... And my chapters are really LONG... Like around 30 or more pages...
Anyway, just a friendly tid-bit. Wink
Later-Gator! (lol.)

A Real Intro Empty Re: A Real Intro

Post by ThaliaAnderson Sun Jul 04, 2010 2:20 am

Hahaha, I let my stuff drag on and on, too. =] I decided that my books would just end up being really long - that way, my fans won't have to die waiting for the next book [hahah yeeeeah riiight]. Augh, I would be so frustrated if I only worked on one at a time. I get bored and uninspired/blocked so easily, especially with my writing. So I like being able to trade off, change out characters and focus on something new. It helps to clear my head a lot of the time.
For instance, when working on my epic fantasy tale, I like to drop it all sometimes and head over to my classic high-school romance, hahah. It's a total breath of fresh air.

I tried that chapter planning thing a little while back, but it made it harder for me to write. I know what'll happen in my head, and I find it turns out a lot better when I don't think about it beforehand and just let my emotions about the situation pour out onto the page. But I like the sitting down and writing, feel like it or not. I do that a lot. In my journal, I keep a to-do list of ten things I should write and pick one at random. Whether I feel like working on that particular thing or not, I write it, and I get it done. (And you would not BELIEVE how long that list is)

Haha. We're complete oposites in some ways! For me, I know that if I start on something else I'll never finish the first book. I really get what you mean though. But for me, it would really screw me up big time!

With the lists, I actually plan a lot less than you would think... Mainly, I write down the main events of the chapter, and what the big conversation is about. That's all. After that, everything is fair game. I just let my mind go, and somhow everything stays on track. I don't do it with every chapter though. Only the ones where I'm confused about what's happening. Sometimes, if I don't write it down, my mind will get so off-track. But it usually works out.
Do you ever feel that even your own story is confusing to you? Okay. You don't have to answer that.
Here's something more fun.
Have you ever felt that you just want to hug your sub-concious to death? If you don't know what I'm talking about, then I'll go ahead and explain. Lol.

Post by ThaliaAnderson Sun Jul 04, 2010 2:45 am

I'm thinking of posting a few summaries for my stories up on here and see if I can attract any editors. I'm so horrible at proof-reading. I need all the editors I can gather. XD Right now, I only have like, three. And they all point out very different things. D=

I've felt a lot of the time that my stories are too confusing, hahah. I sometimes wonder where I'm going with them, but when I really do think about it, I wouldn't have it any other way. If we're being completely honest, I have one story where I hardly know where I'm going with it, hahah.

Hug my sub-concious? Do you mean the thing that makes you write? Like a muse? Because I've wanted to hug my muse on several occasions. He keeps me going. *_*

...Because I've always pictured my muse as a man, hahha.

I guess Muse is one way to put it... But for me, it's more than that.
Okay, this is gonna make me soudn crazy.
Sometimes, I'll be writing, and the ideas will just be pouring out. It's only in the middle of this that I realize there's a certain topic I need to stick to. Otherwise, the whole scene just goes "poof". But, I'm always writing so fast, I never really stop to think about what should come next. For all I know, I could be heading toward talking about unicorns and ponies. That would not be good... But when I stop writing, I realize that somehow, even though conversation went a little off topic, it wound up exactly where it should go! I NEVER plan this out. It's always a bit of a shock to me. I always say it's my sub-concious. That's who's REALLY writing the story, and figuring out everything. That's the best example I can come up with from memory. But there have been SO many times, where a random idea I had one day and then another random idea I had another day, magically fit together somehow. It's like my sub-concious is planning everything out, and giving me random hints along the way. Has that stuff ever happened to you? It's happened to me so many times, that it's not even wierd anymore. That' the main reason I don't remember. ;D

I dunno. . .I honestly can't remember. xD Maybe? Hahaha. Usually I find something interesting and then take it, and never remember where I got it. Though a lot of my friends that are close to me say I talk just like Rory and Lorelai Gilmore in Gilmore Girls because I've memorized the script to all seven seasons of that show pretty much.

Hahaha, I may be a little obsessed.
