Well.......

I'm not really sure why I'm posting this. There probably isn't a point....
This is about sony vegas.
Maybe not all of you know, but I still don't have it.
And it's not becuase I haven't thought of downloading it. In fact, I have been to probably fifteen download sites. They're all perfectly fine. But I can't get it.
It's becuase, that after it downloads, the computer installs it in. The thing is, I CAN'T install stuff. Not just becuase I'm not allowed, but becuase there's a password to do so. This should mean, that I'll never be able to get it unless I buy it, or my own computer.
However....
During the time I was looking to download it, I found something else. A video program. I THOUGHT it was sony vegas. It turned out to be something else. I don't remember what it's name was... But it was an actual, official program. Except, it SUCKED. It looked proffesional, and NICE, but it was extremely confusiing to use. I soon realized, it was practically the same as WMM, except WAY too confusing to use, and with barely any effects. The video quality wasn't even good when I tried it. It was the crappiest editing program I've ever seen. But it really was, a real, proffesional (sort of) program. It wasn't some sort of scam.
When I downloaded it, I should of had to install it after that. Meaning, I wouldn't have been able to get it. But instead of installing, it JUST downloaded, and I was able to use it without installing it!
The reason I'm posting this, is becuase I'm wondering if anybody knows how to download sony vegas without having to install it. I really doubt that's possible... But then again, it shouldn't have been possible to use the other program without installing it.
I guess, I'm hoping somebody will know something I don't.
But, this is probably for nothing....
I only put this here, as a last resort for getting sony vegas. I want it more than anything.... But, I probably won't get it for a long time...
Please help if you can....

what i used to do, was i looked on youtube. A lot of people upload videos of "How to" get sony vegas. Since there's so many types of sony vegas, you would have to be specific of which one you wanted. You would also what to make sure they have the "keyguns", i think that's the word, im not sure right now. anyway, "keyguns" are like the codes for sony vegas, i've never actually been able to download sony vegas, instal it, and then use it. i had to buy mine. i hope this helps some ^_^ and if im wrong, im sorry, i dont know wat else there is...

It's Keygens, I actually have a really awesome tutorial this guy did on how to *cough Cough*Crack8Cough* A sony vegas program. I'll leave the link, the Keygens are the magically tool that provides an authorization code and other stuff you might need. Take this as a word of caution when getting sony vegas or any program you don't wanna pay for but wanna crack, put a fake name and address. The guy I saw who cracked the program said it's the best thing to do.

If he doesn't mention it, WHEN using the keygen right-click run as admin. Also if he doesn't mention it don't forgot to click patch. if you need help please ask.

I followed both these videos, I suggest you watch them through at least twice before doing anything. I also didn't download a keygen because I also had one. I'll try to help as much as possible. They both have awesome info. I swear by my fascination for sour iceys that these videos worked for me. I was gonna gave up on trying to do this because I'm no computer geek.

I didn't download the program my dad's friend gave it to me and told me to look for Tutorial on how to do what you need.

If I'm not clear then you might need to wait for someone else to help you.

I'm sorry... I guess I wasn't clear. I CAN'T install stuff, becuase I am not the administrator on my computer... For both of the ways you gave me Miri (and for any sony vegas download I've found) you need a password from an administrator. That is why I haven't been able to get sony vegas. And why I don't think I ever will... Well, for a long time. So, these ways won't work... But thanks for trying to help. Really...

Simple. Just get onto the user that is the administrator, go into your control panel and upgrade your user to become an admin user.

Or, just install Vegas on the admin user, and select the option for it to be avaliable on all users.

Being a guest on a computer is a safety measure, I suggest researching editing programs, finding a way to get them cheaper then normal, like with a student discount, and getting it that way.
Or find someone else with the disc and get it that way.
I can get Adobe CS5 for half price once I start working towards a degree/take certain classes. Getting them from Amazon or other like sites is another way to get them cheaper as well.

I am not the admin, as I said. I can't get on the admin user becuase I don't know the password, and my sister would never give me the password. The rest probably makes sense after that.
Maybe Kitty's right. Maybe I'll just have to buy it...

Why not ask your sister to make you an admin, at least for the time being, or ask her to insert the password herself?

Even so, I bought my Sony Vegas and I had to enter my admin password to install it. It's that way, whether you buy it or not.

Your sister should be nice enough to let you install this one thing. My goodness -.-;

She's your sister, I'm pretty sure she isn't that harsh. Just ask nicely, it always worked for me. Buying Sony Vegas the recent one is like buying a small laptop. It kinda expensive. D: Just pull out the charm. Does she really have a password because sometimes the admins don't put a password you just press "OK" and it works. But if your sister put a password on it then you might as well just ask her for this one thing because you won't be able to run as admin if you don't have a password.

Yeah like Thalia said, tell her to make you an admin for a day or two and just download the program. It's perfectly safe it's not as if your gonna go on a download spree.

All in all, it's gonna revolve around asking your sister. Unless you wanna go ninja and sneak up to her laptop when she isn't looking and make yourself an admin.

That doesn't require a lot of time but i think it does require making another account on the computer. Unless you can make the "Guest" account admin. I'm not sure I haven't tried to do that in a while.

Thankyou for the advice Miri. But well, you just don't know my sister.... She isn't cruel and evil or anything. But, it's just not going to happen.
She thinks it's dangerous for ME to download stuff. Which is rediculous, becuase she does it too. It's not like there's a special way to download stuff that ensures it's virus free! I don't know she thinks "I can't do it." When obviously, I can.
That actually means I've been downloading videos and making amvs behind her back.... I feel terrible for it..... But I KNOW it's not dangerous. Look at the hundreds of other people doing it!
I didn't want to have to say this, becuase I felt too guilty.
This is the real reason why I can't get sony vegas. I'm not supposed to be making amvs... So there's no way I could ever talk her into letting me DOWNLOAD a program for making amvs.
And if I tried to ask her to let me be admin for a day or somthing... she'd ask why.
I don't think I'm ever going to be able to explain things to her without her getting totally pissed off. She told me not to do something, and i did it anyway. Becuase I KNEW she was wrong.
But she'd never understand just how much I love to make amvs. She thinks they are silly, and a waste of time.
And if she found out I was doing these things, she would probably ban me from the computer. (Becuase, it's acutally her's. )
This is why i'm probably never going to get sony vegas untill I get the money to buy my own computer. And that will be years from now. When I'm eighteen or nineteen.
That's why, all I wanted was a way to download it, without having to install it. So I wouldn't need an admin password....
Am I a terrible sister for lying? But, I just love amvs too much. They are such a big part of my life now...

Hey, don't sweat it. You'll be getting up to that age where you can get a job soon, right? If you save up, you'll be able to pay for Vegas (if you decide to the get the Platinum version that I have, it's about a hundred dollars, or the regular version is about eighty - Pro is almost six hundred, so I wouldn't recommend going for that right off the bat). Of course, you'll have to talk to your sister about it eventually. I mean, I don't know of anybody on the entire planet, let alone a sibling, who wouldn't listen to you when you're honestly trying to talk to her about something.

Does she have something that she loves to do? A hobby? Liken video editing to that. You don't have to call it "making AMVs". Video editing is something, a skill, that you can carry with you. My parents are thinking I could go into commercial editing now that I know how to use Vegas properly.

My parents weren't thrilled with me buying Vegas either - they thought it would be worthless. That I'd buy it on a whim and forget about it within a couple months. But I was willing to work for it and buy it, it convinced them to let me do it. If you're willing to work and buy it for yourself, I don't see why in the world she would object to you following a passion.

I agree with Thalia, Vegas does pay off! Honestly mostly everyone who gets Vegas gets into it. Meaning you could really go somewhere with videos. Don't give up hope! AMVs may seem like a waste of time to her but it teaches you how to do stuff if you really want it.

If it's a passion for you she'll have to understand, it's something you enjoy something you like to do.

Just like my writing, I use to do fanfics and one of my friends thought it was meaningless, but now i'm writing my own kind of novel and it's getting me somewhere, i'm looking online for programs I can work in with other writers.

What I guess I'm trying to say is, doing stuff you enjoy leads to bigger stuff in life. If she's old enough she should realize if you like making videos that maybe you can have some sort of future in videos. It's something you enjoy something you obviously work at very hard to take risk with it.

Just install Sony Vegas 7. When It Ask for the Serial Number, Just Use the DropDown Menu And Find Sony Vegas 7.0. then Click Generate. Then Everything should be fine.

I agree with Thalia and FantasyLove, my mom didn't enjoy the idea of me spending most of my time on the computer making videos, but for me, it's getting somewhere, i now get paid for making videos for the local wrestlers. And making amvs is a way for me to test out new things, so i get something good out of this either way...maybe you should try explaining that to your sister, video making/editing is a great way to make some money while doing something you love. im sure she'll understand if you just explain that to her, u never know what she'll say unless u ask, right?

You: Let me get Sony Vegas, I have fun making these videos. They take people places. Like Kassie for instance, she got into AMV making & she now makes videos for local wrestlers. Video making is my love, installing this program will help me get better at making videos! If I was in your place I'd let you install what you want for your passion. Do me this favor.

No your not a wuss. Just tell her you started at school and you really miss it. Tell her it was a passion for you at school, that you feel the need to start making videos again. She'll have to understand right?

It's just a matter of words, I promise you I can't tell a lie to someone's face because I'll start laughing. but I do know how to string my words together to get people on my side. She can't restrict you from the computer it just won't be fair, even if it is her computer (Did she pay for it?), if she didn't pay for it you can always bring your parents in on it so they can hear you out.

I WISH my parents had money to pay for a computer. Then I could get one, and this whole probelm would disapear! Even if I gave up all my christmas presents AND birthday presents, there's now way...

If you really want a computer maybe a little job on the side or chores will work. I mean it's a little money but at least you know you'll be saving for something you really want. But I still thinking you should talk to your sister...don't go straight for it, calmly talk to her about programs for the computer. If she truly loves her CP she'll listen, Sony Vegas goes a long way.

Does your High School have internship? If it does and your allowed to, sign up for it. For me it's mandatory as in the Fall or Spring, but like my teacher always said, internships lead to paid jobs.
