How to Remove Coyright Claims on Songs//Videos

Yeah, I've noticed how people tend to have problems with this? Having a song be copyrighted and then having to pitch the song and making it sound /awful/. Here's the step-by-step process to remove that copyright without getting a single strike on your channel.

1. Click on “view copyright info” on the My Videos page on the video.

2. Then click “I want to learn more about the dispute process.”

3. Click “take me to the dispute form.”

4. Check the second option. In the “explain” field, copy and paste this: Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use

5. In the signature, type your name (your real name; first and last)
6. Copy+paste the statement of good faith.
7. “Continue”

8. “Submit Dispute”

9. Are you sure? “Yes”

I've never gotten a strike before, and I've used Within Tempation, Evanescence, and pretty much any music that would normally be copyrighted. My status with YouTube is 100% clean and using this process makes YouTube realize that you're allowed to use the music//footage in this manner and have it be completely legal.

Within temptation is the reason I had to switch accounts. D:
I used Two within temptation songs. The got blocked once. I sent the dispute. Then, they got blocked a SECOND time, and after that I couldn't fix them.
And THEN after three months of nothing happening, they both got removed by youtube and I got two strikes on my channel. D:

Well anyway, playingxfavorites told me that this method helps songs that are blocked in other countries. Is this true?? o.O I'm not doubting her, I just don't understand how you could submit the dispute when the audio hasn't been turned off in your country.....

Yeah; this method works for everything. You have to make sure you use these EXACT steps, otherwise it won't work.

And when it asks for your electronic signature, you MUST use your real first and last name, otherwise it will not work; somehow, it knows if it's wrong, ahahaha.

Anyway, I had a collab with Danny that was a WT song and it's just fine; I don't know why, but he got a strike for it, but my account is perfectly fine; and a birthday video I uploaded awhile ago was "Memories" and it's also okay. I've also used, "The Howling" "Angels" and other such music and all is well.

That method doesn't always remove copyright claims, youtube is risky and..some people are luckier than others.

Best bet is to just use non-well-known songs..or try and edit the audio yourself or remix.

That seems pretty weird; seeing as this has always worked for me and I've used a wide variety of music.

It sometimes works for a few days then they'll cap your ass on it. It depends on the person because of WMG. But I think they're backing off of the youtube copyright claims lately.

grr... I deleted the video. damn it. so I can't remove the strike. and I have 2.

This works with WMG 99% of the time, due to the type of infringement being Third Party.

However, if the infringement is 'blocked in the some countries' (which, in most cases, is Germany), this has a limited chance of working, around 40-50%. The two times I've disputed over this type of claim has resulted in my two strikes on my account.

The only real way to counteract the second type (from what I've gathered) is reuploading at a pitch change 1-2 keys higher or lower.
